If you're still in need of lodging, there may still be rooms available at the Marriott, outside of the conference room block. Otherwise, we recommend the nearby Hyatt Place Bloomington/Normal (please note there is no ILACADA room block for this location.)

We're looking forward to welcoming you all to Illinois State University, where we will engage in community-building and idea sharing as we celebrate our 15th anniversary!

Keynote: We're very pleased to announce our Keynote speaker, Dr. Jennifer Bloom!

Dr. Bloom is known for her work in Appreciative Advising. She's currently a Professor of Higher Education Leadership at Florida Atlantic University, but previously hails from right here in Illinois! She earned her B.S. from Illinois State University, and her M.S. and Ed. D from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign where she also worked for 12 years.

Dr. Bloom's keynote is entitled: "The Power of Questions.”
Simply put, the questions we ask ourselves, our students, and others in our lives matter. Yet we are often too busy to reflect on the questions we ask or how they influence the quality of the responses we receive. This engaging session will cover the types of questions, how to craft an engaging appreciative question, and offer sample questions for building trust in relationships.

Welcome Social: Kick off the conference with us at the Welcome Social! Thursday, September 24th at Medici in Normal. Food and some drinks provided by our conference partner, Complete College America.
