Scholarships for Region 5 Conference

ILACADA is proud to offer 3 scholarships to cover registration for current members to attend the NACADA Region 5/6 conference in Minneapolis in April 2026. Must be a current ILACADA and NACADA member. This scholarship covers the current member, early bird registration rate of $475. The deadline to apply is February 20th, and winners will be notified on or before March 9th.

Dawn Huckelberry "Busy Bee" Service to ILACADA Award

The inaugural recipient for this award was Dawn Huckelberry (SIUE), who dedicated many years of over and above service to ILACADA. 

Dawn was recognized at the 2024 ILACADA annual conference at UIUC, having served as Webmaster (Web Goddess) for several years, managing many membership and communications processes as well as registration for all of our conferences, and much more. She also served as Vice President, President, and Past-President, and Chaired some of our annual fall conferences. Further, she provided mentorship to various other board members and conference planning committees throughout her many years of service. ILACADA remains forever grateful to Dawn, having introduced this award in her namesake as a small token of our appreciation for all that she has done. Of Dawn's many fascinating hobbies and interests, she (quite fittingly) keeps bees, hence the "Busy Bee" mention in the award title.

This award will be given periodically to a current or former ILACADA board member recognized as having gone above and beyond what is expected of their volunteer role in the association.

At our 2025 Annual Fall Conference at Sauk Valley Community College, Jaimie Engle (DePaul University) was honored with the Dawn Huckelberry "Busy Bee" Service to ILACADA Award! Jaimie is currently the ILACADA Webmaster, former Communications Chair and Past President, and has served on various ILACADA conference committees.
